UT Basics is designed to help everyone! You will learn about the
services to assist while you are attending, contacts that will prove valuable
for a positive outcome, and information that will make your experience not only
productive but also enjoyable.
Once you have decided you are ready to enroll at the university, you will need
to become an admitted student.

This is a short informational workshop to help
those who finished high school more than a year ago learn about the basics for
getting an education at UT. Topics include admission, creating a class schedule
that works for you, and the resources the University offers to help you succeed.

Admission to The University of Toledo
The process of admission to the University of Toledo is simple!
All you need to do is submit:

A completed application with a $40 fee. There are three ways
you can apply:

Apply Online.

Download an application and submit it through a visit to our Office
of Undergraduate Admission at Rocket Hall (corner of Dorr Street and
Secor Rd.)

An official transcript from high school, college (s) if you
are a transfer student, or copy of your GED scores.

International students must also provide a Financial Support
Letter and TOEFL scores (if taken.)
Placement Tests
If
you have never attended college, you will need to take placement tests. They are
assessments indicating your skills in the subject areas of math and English. The results from your placement tests are needed for advising and registration.
If you are a transfer student you may need a placement test, an academic advisor
will assist you.
Placement tests are offered at Rocket Hall. You can visit Rocket Hall Room
1569 Monday through Friday to take your assessments. For more information call

P lacement
Test Results
The results from your placement tests are needed for advising and
registration. If you don't have them, you cannot successfully continue.
You will now learn all about a
selected group of services to assist you in becoming a
successful student. The pages in
the following section (in blue on the menu to your left) are arranged in
alphabetical order and cover everything from the Bookstore to the Web for
Students.
O rientation
and Registration
Orientation represents a beginning for new and
transfer students. Orientation is the universities best opportunity to introduce
a strong learning environment, build the foundations for academic success,
welcome students to the campus community, promote student interactions with
faculty and staff and convey the values and traditions of the new institution.

Rocket Launch is an
orientation program
for students who are coming directly from
high school or have their GED
and students who have been out of high school one year or greater who have
under 8 semester hours. The program is designed to acquaint you
with academic and co-curricular activities at UT, meet with academic
advisers, receive important instructions, assist with course registration,
attend sessions on timely topics, and complete vital procedural details such
as housing, financial aid ID, parking, and email account. Necessary
placement test need to be completed prior to attending orientation.

Rocket Transition
is an orientation program for students
who have beyond high school 8 or more transfer
credit hours from a regionally
accredited institution. This program is designed to acquaint you with
UT. You will learn how your previous coursework applies to your UT degree
and what classes you need to register for to meet degree requirements. The
program is designed to acquaint you with academic and co-curricular
activities at UT, meet with academic advisers, receive important
instructions, assist with course registration, attend sessions on timely
topics, and complete vital procedural details such as housing, financial
aid, ID, parking, and email account. Placement tests may be needed and
should be completed prior to attending orientation.

Schedule of Classes
The schedule of classes gives course descriptions, time, day, location, and
instructor of each class. You can not select your classes without this. Access
to the schedule of classes is on the Web.

The UT Catalog gives you in-depth information of the college as well as course
descriptions for every class and requirements for every major. Access to the UT
catalog is on the Web, at the Office
of Undergraduate Admission, Rocket Hall Suite 1000, college office, and the UT
Bookstore.
